Faribault man jailed after Saturday morning police chase in Mankato

A Faribault man is in the Blue Earth County Jail after an early-morning police chase Saturday that started at U.S. Highway 14 and Riverfront Drive.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel said it started when 28- year-old Tethloac Chut nearly hit a cruiser. “An officer was on routine patrol when a vehicle almost struck his vehicle,” he explained, “That officer then attempted to do a traffic stop on the vehicle.”

Schisel said the chase continued until Chut reached the home of someone he knew, “And at that point, the officer completed a felony stop on the vehicle and the individual was taken into custody without incident.”

“The suspect is being charged with fleeing police in a motor vehicle, fourth and third degree DWI, and test refusal and was placed in the Blue Earth County Justice Center,” Schisel said.
